BILLING POLICY
Sippy Downs Family Medical is a Private Billing Practice and fees will apply
A New Patient fee of $170 applies to all patients regardless of age
A concession fee may be applied at the doctor’s discretion
Bulk Billing is an exception made at the doctor's discretion
DVA Card holders may be bulk-billed for approved conditions
Saturday Clinic is No Bulk Billing; Private Fees will apply to all
Due to the large number of missed appointments, a Cancellation Fee of $50 for standard appointments
or $80 for longer appointments will apply for missed appointments and
for all appointments cancelled less than 2 hours before the scheduled appointment.
If you have a genuine emergency and cannot attend, please contact us as soon as possible.
Further appointment requests be declined if the outstanding late fees is not paid.

Children aged 12 and under, and patients aged 75 and older,
may be bulk-billed for standard consults (under 20 minutes) at the doctor's discretion.
Long appointments (more than 20 minutes) for all patients will be charged full private fees.
DVA Gold Card holders may be bulk billed. DVA White card holders may be bulk billed for eligible conditions.
All Initial Consults for new patients may attract fees.
All Referral requests will require an appointment.
Scripts for regular medication (existing patients only) can be requested by a telephone appoint.
Telephone appointments will be charged as per face-to-face appointments
and payment details must be supplied to receive your call
Influenza, COVID-19 and other government funded vaccinations will be bulk billed for all Medicare or DVA card holders.
GP Management Plans, Health Assessments,and Medication Reviews will generally be bulk billed.
Mental Health consultations or plans will attract fees.
Iron Infusions are $300
Appointments for non-Medicare holders or international students will be payable at the time of consultation.
Refunds can be sought from your Overseas Health Cover provider.
For non-Medicare eligible items, such as pre-employment medicals, commercial driver’s medicals, etc,
fees will be explained prior to the consultation.
** If you are experiencing genuine financial difficulty, please speak to your doctor about bulk billing your consultation fee.

PRIVACY POLICY
Management of Your Confidential Information
Your medical information is confidential, however, Sippy Downs Family Medical often forwards certain medical information to other medical organizations such as Medicare and the Australian Immunisation Register. This is a normal practice and is only for the benefit of patient health. All information at Sippy Downs Family Medical is handled according to the Australian Privacy Principles. Should you require further details, please speak to the Practice Manager (details below).
Patients are entitled to view or obtain a copy of their medical records. Reasonable fees may be charged for photocopying and doctor's time. Please contact reception to arrange this.
Test Results
It is the policy of this practice to have all patients return for a consultation for their results. The Practice Nurse may give results to patients over the phone only under special circumstances and if this is organized by the Doctor during your consultation.

We believe that problems are best dealt with through the practice. Indeed, we want to know if you are concerned about any aspect of our service. However, if you feel there is a problem you may wish to take outside, you may prefer to contact the Queensland Government Centre for handling complaints.
